Accu Measure Pulse Monitor Pedometer 355
weight loss, fitness equipmentI have started taking my weight loss goal as I would a business venture. Instead of just throwing myself on fitness equipment whenever I have time in the week for random increments, I have drawn up a graph or cycle of exercises and goals to reach each week. Under every day after working out, I notate how many miles I ran, for how long and/or what exercises were completed. This kind of broken down science of weight loss was taught to me a long time ago in Junior High School but I only recently revisited it.

Back in Junior High, we had a weekly heart rate monitor run. At the beginning of the year, we all tracked our beats per minute, with the results did a calculation and came up with an individual target heart rate zone. Staying in this zone is the best way to weight loss. Some fitness equipment has built-in hand sensors to track heart beat but none of it allows a target zone. The monitors we used back then would beep whenever the below or above the zone. At the end, the gym teachers would then read the results on a computer that showed exactly how long we were within, below and above the target zone, which then led to our weekly grade for the run.

I was shopping around Healthy Choices USA at http://healthychoicesusa.com/ for nutrition health protein bars as my pantry was running low on workout fuel. After getting sidetracked in the “Fitness Accessories” section the Accu Measure Pulse Monitor Pedometer 355 grabbed my attention. Portable, affordable and accurate this little weight loss gem, pictured above monitors footsteps, heart rate, calories burned and more. This is exactly the kind of fitness equipment tech that would bring my weekly routines to the next level.

If I have learned anything from the failed attempts at weight loss in my past it is that seeing results that stick are best found when everything is managed and recorded. That way there is no way I can trick myself into believing I did more exercise then actually occurred. It is near impossible to remember how a week full of fitness equipment went without recording the results. I have trouble remembering how many miles I ran two days after it happened. Recording results has also lent me motivation because as the weeks go on I can see a definite progression in time spent in the gym, miles completed and calories burnt.
